THE PARK

The park consists of 144 aces of land, and it was from this site that Banneker crafted one of the first all-American-made wooden clocks and wrote his almanacs and famous correspondence with Thomas Jefferson.

Many trails can be found on site, including conservation paths and the historic Number 9 Trolley Line Trail. Visit the colonial herb garden, vegetable garden and Banneker Orchard. Also located on site is a newly restored 19th-century farmhouse, the Bannaky house.

A picnic area is available for groups of 12 and under on a first-come, first-served basis. Banneker's Compass Pavilion is available for groups up to 30 by reservation. Please contact the office at 410-887-1081 for more information on reserving the pavilion.
